Our "Gear Drive" Pilot Program Is On!

When we started Sober and Stoked 2 years ago, our mission was to get athletic gear in the hands of people living in halfway houses and sober living houses so that they can either rediscover a lost passion or find a new purpose in the early stages of their recovery.
We started that mission by releasing our first film “6 Gifts”, and are now finally getting the chance to follow that up with our first “gear drive” which will be taking place on the Eastern Shore of Maryland on April 27th!
While we applied for our 501c3 status in November of last year, we still have not received it due to the government shutdown.
We got tired of waiting and wanted to see something get done now.  With this “pilot program”, at the very least, we can validate that our model works, learn from our successes and failures, and be ready to launch a full scale program when we receive our status.
This means that we CANNOT tell anyone that this is tax deductible yet.
If people want to support it, it will be out of the goodness of their heart.
This particular drive will benefit:

Hope 4 Recovery- Houses in Berlin and Salisbury
and
Hudson Health- 7 houses on the shore
We are looking to source lightly used sporting goods, art supplies, or musical instruments.
Ideally we are looking for “gear” around the following sports:
Exercise equipment
Baseball/Basketball/Tennis
Yoga
Surf or Watersports
Fishing
Bicycling
Skateboards
We will also accept dvd’s/books/magazines about any and all sports, art, or music as well.
All people need to do is let us know by the 23rd of April, and we can schedule a pickup time with them.
We feel very strongly that this program will save lives in communities all over the country.  As two people that have over 25 years sober between them, we know the value of finding a passion and a purpose in sobriety, and believe this program will help others who are in the same position.
We are grateful to everyone that has supported us on this journey so far, and are beyond excited to see this next phase of Sober and Stoked take flight!
